In March of 2023 the Colorado General Assembly introduced an initiative about student mental health assessments/screening. This has brought about many questions regarding how this impacts the home education students of Colorado. Please see this information from HSLDA:
(15)A STUDENT WHO IS HOME-SCHOOLED BUT WHO PARTICIPATES IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OR ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AT A PARTICIPATING SCHOOL IS EXEMPT FROM THE MENTAL HEALTH SCREENING PURSUANT TO THIS PART 9. NOTHING IN THIS SUBSECTION (15) EXEMPTS A STUDENT WHO IS HOME-SCHOOLED FROM ANY OTHER RIGHTS PROVIDED BY LAW. Here is a copy of the law for viewing: C:\1003_enr.txt (colorado.gov)
